A baby shower is a party in which parents or expectant parents receive gifts for their newborn or expected child. By convention, a baby shower is intended to help parents get items that they need for their baby, such as baby clothes. In the past few decades, baby showers have become more common, as families become smaller and as each child receives more individual attention. Traditionally, a baby shower is held only for the mother-to-be, and only women attend. However, in recent times, men are also starting to participate in a couples baby showers.

As a matter of fact, when my friends threw me a baby shower, they had a few unique baby shower ideas that I actually enjoyed. However, there were also games that I could have done without. It was a surprise shower, at my house - which I was less than thrilled about. I had known that it would be a girl, so everything was pink. I tried to desperately come up with some baby shower ideas that were unique and catered to her. My friend did not know what the baby’s sex was, so it wasn’t easy to pick a theme.
