Cute Baby Animals
There are some reasons I don’t fully understand why many children are attracted to animals. Maybe because they have finally found something that is smaller than they are, or perhaps it is because animals match some of their toys or baby blankets, and maybe they think of them as toys that move and play on their own. No matter what the reason, children seem to have a attraction with animals, and they often have a great reaction when they see baby animals. They may relate even more to the babies.
Some adults like to have them as pets because they are closed to baby animals also. They often forget that though they are cute when little, they always grow up. his causes a lot of problems for some baby animals that grow up, and suddenly find they are not wanted any longer. Actually this happened around Easter when people get baby chicks and bunnies for their children as a gift. These animals end up in shelters when the children can’t care for them, they grow up and the adults are tired of doing it.
By then, advertising firms know how to pluck our heartstrings and animals are very often used. Along with pet food of course, puppies and kittens help to sell everything from toilet roll to paint. Who could resist? Greeting cards also have pictures of kittens playing with balls of string, cute ducklings gliding across the pond and puppies curled up in a basket. There is something about these offspring; the doe eyed deer, the ponies and new born hippos. Even little gorillas look sweet. There is a whole industry in soft toys. Recently, the usual animals have been supplemented by infant dinosaurs, Loch Ness Monsters and sharks. I guess sharks can be lovable sometimes.
Even films have also capitalized on our sentimental streak. Who could forget the Disney tearjerkers of Bambi and Dumbo? There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Bambi lost her mummy. Some people found it difficult to eat rabbit stew after seeing Watership Down, in which baby rabbits frolicked in the dew. We all know that baby animals have always been a staple of cartoons. The fishy movie, Finding Nemo was a big hit, proving that modern movie goers are just as soft.
I know that there’s a serious side to all this. Some practices involving animals are extremely controversial, especially the annual cull of young seals in Canada. News footage of the slaughter of these baby animals is upsetting to watch and there are animal welfare groups who campaign against it. The consumption of veal is another hot topic. There are many people who normally eat meat but refuse to eat veal because of the way the meat is obtained. It’s the produce of calves, which spend their very short lives in intensive conditions without access to daylight.
Unfortunately, farm animals are just as cute, but they are ones most of us eat. In most cases piglets are also kept intensively. Only lambs seem to lead a untroubled life until the fateful day comes when they have to meet their maker. It’s a sad fact that lamb tastes better than mutton. The young meat is more tender.
Most owners of puppies know the challenges that they bring. They have to be toilet trained and taught not to chew slippers and chair legs or to howl through the night. Although it’s difficult task but it’s important to enjoy a puppy too and these kind of baby animals grow unbelievably fast. Not only these baby animals but also kittens have to be trained, in the use of the litter tray especially. All the baby animals will continue to delight us and sometimes make us cry.
However, there are many responsible people who want to have baby animals so they can have the pet from the beginning of life to the end. It makes for a very nice bond, whether they are babies or not when they come to a home for the first time, most animals will create a unique bond with their owners. Shelters often have baby animals that are up for adoption, but the majority are grown adults. It’s heartbreaking to see them in the cages, knowing they will be great pets, when they are passed up for the kittens and the puppies.
Remember, that be careful where to buy animals whether you want to get a baby animals, or if you are looking for an adult animal to take home. Some are not healthy, but you may never know it before you take them home. Shelter animals are often healthy, and if they are not, they will tell you before you take one home, or they may not release the animal to anyone until it is in good health. When buying baby animals from anywhere, make sure to take them to a veterinarian immediately to be sure they are in good health. Some make a living selling sick animals, and that is just heartbreaking for everyone involved. A veterinarian can tell you about the health of the animal, and will give necessary shots, if needed.
